Some of New York’s hottest trend setters made their way to the Hilton Hotel Rooftop, in Chelsea last night to view the Malan Breton Homme Collection.
It was a packed house as the crowds gathered in support of Breton for the weekly fashion showcase held at the Hilton Rooftop, Image 26 presented by Chris Ryan, and Fed Velasquez.
Appearances included NYC based Philanthropist and Socialite Karen Koeningsberg, David Z and Paulie Z of IFC’s Z Rock and 2 members of the band z02, Grande Productions founder Frankie Grande (Broadway’s Hamlet with Jude Law; La Bête with Joana Lumley), celebrity hair stylist George Ortiz members of the band Discrete Encounter Natasha Romanova and Stas Mashov, and designer Richie Rich.
Guests enjoyed three open bars, and music by DJ Xavier as they waited for the show to begin, and to get a glimpse of the man of the hour. By 11:30, the Rooftop was at capacity as anxious spectators cleared the floor for the models to walk the catwalk, showing select pieces from the Spring/Fall 2011 Homme Collections. Some of the featured designs included Breton’s tailored suiting pieces, the signature “Breton Blue,” smoking jacket, and a Kimono inspired cape that was originally shown this season on Baron Leandro during the Style 360 shows during fashion week, on February 17th, 2011.
The presentation concluded with a rousing round of applause for the collection, and for Malan as he made his grand entrance into the room.
Breton was quoted saying:
“I am so grateful for everyone’s support tonight. I took a different approach this with my menswear designs in this collection. I wanted to make them more youthful and fun but I still wanted to focus on the tailoring and details. This was actually my 9th season during fashion week, and the Fall collection has gotten a great response. Things have been coming together for myself and the collection this season so I can not wait for what the future will bring.”
