Keri Hilson delivers her Joseph Kahn directed video titled “Pretty Girl Rock”. The song will be featured on her upcoming album No Boys Allowed, which hits stores on 12/21 on the same day as Keyshia Cole’s new comeback album.
In the video, Keri pays homage to past and present female artists of the entertainment industry. If you pay close attention, she displays her very own tribute to Janet Jackson, TLC, Beyonce?/Donna Summer? & more leading women in the industry.
The concept was cute and I get the meaning in it’s entirety, but does it really have anything to do with the song? I really feel that the song could have been portrayed in a current form or fashion. The portrayal of the leading women in the video was definitely a good look and very nice of Keri but I feel that the song/lyrics has nothing to do with that concept. It doesn’t match.
The actual pace/speed of the track, paired with the visual of the video gives it a dull feeling. But you can’t help but smile and give Keri props for emulating her favorites performers. It is a good song…there is no denying that. We just have to pay close attention to these music videos…
Everyone knows that I love Keri and she rocked the house at ConcreteLoop’s 5th Anniversary Event!
