Our favorite, President Obama covers the October 15, 2010 issue of Rolling Stone. Rolling Stone had interviewed Barack Obama twice before, both times aboard his campaign plane — first in June 2008, a few days after he won the Democratic nomination, and again that October, a month before his election.
During the hour and a quarter conversation with Presient Obama, several questions were asked including this one…
When you came into office, you felt you would be able to work with the other side. When did you realize that the Republicans had abandoned any real effort to work with you and create bipartisan policy?
Well, I’ll tell you that given the state of the economy during my transition, between my election and being sworn in, our working assumption was that everybody was going to want to pull together, because there was a sizable chance that we could have a financial meltdown and the entire country could plunge into a depression. So we had to work very rapidly to try to create a combination of measures that would stop the free-fall and cauterize the job loss.

More of Usher, Nia Long, Taraji P. Henson Samuel L. Jackson & Mary J. Blige after the jump…
Usher, Nia Long, Taraji P. Henson Samuel L. Jackson & Mary J. Blige cover the 65th Anniversary Special Collector’s Edition of Ebony. The issue hits shelves October 5th and will also be available nationwide October 12th.
Having the schedules of 12 celebrities coordinate for a four-day photo shoot on two different coasts was no easy task. But hey, you only celebrate your 65th anniversary once, and the staff of EBONY magazine wouldn’t let this milestone pass without creating some major noise. The plan was two-fold: We wanted to acknowledge our influential past while looking resolutely toward our future. We decided to recreate a dozen iconic EBONY covers-featuring the movers, shakers and stars of their day-and invited our current “Fab 12” to portray them.
I am loving all the different textures of gray. A great cover to bring in the fall season. Also, you will catch Nia Long inside the two-fold cover once you pick up the issue.
