Male Supermodel MIGUEL PERDOMO is one of the proud recipients of the 2009 Gillette Fusion Man of Style Award. The awards are being presented by Gillette Fusion and Rolling Out Magazine and will be taking place in New York City on Monday, November 2, 2009. “Being recognized for this award is an honor in itself, but to receive it on birthday makes it ten times greater of a feeling,” chuckles Miguel.
Hailing from Paterson, NJ. via Washington Heights, the recipient of the 2009 Gillette Fusion Man of Style Award winner is a man with the swagger that many would love to have. Miguel Perdomo entered the modeling world by accident a few years ago, “people always asked me are you a model? Or and are you interested in modeling, and I would be nah, I am just a regular kat that is into music and hanging out. Until one day, I was offered what at the moment seemed to be an ok opportunity, so I decided to give it a try,” says Miguel. That opportunity was an on-the-spot casting to be part of a worldwide campaign. “I did not understand the fashion-business lingo back then, so I was just going with the flow,” he adds. That flow paid off, as he landed a worldwide Corona Beer Campaign that had his face plastered on billboards all over the world.
After landing his first campaign, there was no doubt that Miguel Perdomo was ready to focus and take the modeling industry seriously. He immediately landed the COOGI Jeans campaign for their Spring and Fall collection. It followed by the nationwide campaign of AZZURE’ Denim, which allowed for Miguel to start becoming a familiar face in the pages of national publications and billboards abroad. “It was a surreal feeling when people would see me on the train and stare at the posters then stare at me and ask, is that you?,” jokes Miguel. “I am forever thankful to Azzure’ for that exposure,” he adds.
Miguel Perdomo, tagged as the First Male Dominican Supermodel has also appeared on several national and international ads including Calvin Klein Underwear, Songs of Freedom Jeans, Touch City USA Footwear, Rochester Big & Tall, among others. He presently gracing billboards across the country on his new campaign for AKOO Brand Clothing and is more recognized as one of SEAN JOHN’s key faces as he has been modeling for the collection for the last 4 seasons. “Being a SEAN JOHN model is something that sometimes, I still can’t believe for the simple fact that I am a SEAN JOHN Jeans fan, not to mention a Bad Boy fan, so working with them is like a dream come true”, says Miguel.
He served as one of the faces for the Fall/winter 2008/2009 Moet Hennessy campaign, in which allowed him to represent MOET Hennessy all over the world. Miguel has appeared on BET, BET J, MTV, VH-1, The Tyra Banks Show and The Wendy Williams Show, just to name a few. This past October, Miguel served as the face of the 2009 Virgin Islands Fashion Week.
When not posing in front in front of the cameras Miguel spends some of his time giving back to his community. He is an active member in his community of Patterson, NJ, by donating his time, voice and athletic skills to some of the youth at the local YMCA. Miguel also partakes in the relief efforts for the Dominican Tornado Relief, in which he collects canned goods, clothing and anything that he can to send to the Dominican Republic for those affected by the disaster.
We here at SFPL are very proud of Miguel! Very well deserved!
