Did that Not just make you smile?
During a conversation with Jusdaremix this Morning, he brought up an excellent point-after I made a joke referring to Reading Rainbow. What happened to educational Black Shows like this? Although it was not an Afrocentric show it was told from the viewpoint of African Americans. It actually helped expand the imagination of ALL Children who watched it! The faces of the Children where no one specific shade, it was quite the melting pot. Quite an introduction to diversity, thus promoting an equilibrium of knowledge.
I watched faithfully, religiously even-My Grandma purchased a great majority of the books this program suggested. This program encouraged intelligence at such a young and impressionable age. It promoted Literacy for Heaven’s sake!
