Listen. We’ve been waiting for a solid Ciara track for a minute.
Now, you may or may not know lol – but Ciara is one of my favorite artist. I’ve been on board since her debut album, Goodies dropped in 04′.
Dead Ass.
Now, things got a little shaky around the 5th album, Ciara. And although I was fully on board for her 6th album, Jackie. She lost me at 7 (Beauty Marks). Her sound had just became too redundant, and there didn’t appear to be any clear direction.
“There was nothing there…” *NeNe Leakes Voice*
Since then. I’ve been waiting. Patiently.
In September, she dropped Better Thangs featuring Summer Walker, and it was just OK. The visuals hit tho.
And then there was the remix featuring GloRilla, which didn’t hit the way they intended it to.

In March, CiCi dropped Da Girls, a smooth bop celebrating and uplifting women. Right at the top of Women’s History Month at that. Honestly, I was in from the cover art. Cause you KNOW she likes to put it ON. lol
With lyrics like, “Get that money, sis / Keep them on they tip / They be tryna press you but you ain’t pressed on it / I’m way too fine to be inside, I’m outside / Having my own sh*t, booking my own trips / Don’t ever let ‘еm disrespect you and call you out your name,” Ciara ushered in a new girls anthem, and I wasn’t mad at her.
For the first time, in a long time, Ciara gave me something to enjoy. I kept saying to myself (and anyone who would listen lol) I hope she nails the remix. And did. She enlisted rap’s latest it girls, Lola Brooke and Lady London (WHO I LOOOVVVEEEE), who both added a double shot of girl power and honestly, authenticity to the track. The visuals WREAK of good times, girl talk & mimosas (HEAVY on the champagne). THIS IS WHAT WE WANNA SEE! Step into the remix below.
