Minneapolis artist Mac Irv has announced the release of his much-anticipated new album. Misfit the highly-anticipated debut album from Mac became available at digital retailers and streaming partners on January 13, 2017.

The official album is highlighted by such extraordinary tracks as “Change”, “Oh God” and the new smash hit “Emotional” . With features by Tory Lanez, Prof and others. He has been featured everywhere from Black Enterprise (which named him one of BE’s Modern Men making a difference), to The Source, Respect Magazine, Hot New Hip Hop, and more, with The Source calling his transition from basketball effortless for rising emcee. When asked about the project Mac Irv said:

Irv recently stopped by SFPL to talk about his new album and his past professional basketball career. His longtime sport stretch included being a starter on the University of Oklahoma’s Men’s Basketball team from 2003 to 2005 before transferring back to the University of Minnesota, eventually earning All Big-Ten honors.

“I’m excited for this project I’ve been working on tirelessly for the last year to be heard by any and everyone who chooses to listen. I’m hopeful it’ll give some insight on social issues on social issues and it will be something women can relate to, and something just to turn up to.”

Flaunting his signature sound, raw lyrics, and fashion-forward style, Mac Irv magnetically becomes the center of attention whenever he walks into a room. Formerly a basketball player at the University mentioned, Mac (Lawrence McKenzie) traded in his basketball for a mic and he’s really making a difference. Mac has opened up for Prof on tour and has an ever-growing relationship with Rhymesayers.

Mac’s debut album definitely offers a proper introduction to his multi-faceted sound, merging Hip-Hop energy, mid-west flavor, and his unparalleled lyrics.
