Squaaash Club/RCA Records rapper/singer GoldLink releases today his new video for his Kaytranada and BadBadNotGood-produced single “Fall in Love” ft. Ciscero. The video features a retro-afro-centric style with a modern twist, resonating a 70’s vibe. The celebratory unique visual, which serves as the first performance by GoldLink in one of his videos, is directed and produced by Shomi Patwary.
The critically acclaimed track “Fall in Love” currently has over 3.1 million streams on Spotify. Pigeons and Planes stated that the song “feels like it could have fit right in at the end of the disco era [with] a modern balance to this lovable track,” while Paper calls the song “a delightful, effervescent new groove.”
Washington D.C. native GoldLink has been establishing himself as a major force in music since the release of his popular 2014 debut mixtape The God Complex. As a follow up to his debut, the rapper/singer released his first LP And After That We Didn’t Talk in 2015. The album featured his hit single “Dance on Me,” which peaked at #4 on Billboard’s Twitter Emerging Artists chart. He has been critically reviewed and featured by various outlets such as Billboard, NPR, Pitchfork, SPIN, Complex, Vibe and XXL as a part of their 2015 Freshman Class. Additionally, Noisey stated that “GoldLink is on the cusp of serious fame” and Pigeons and Planes coined him “one of the hottest names in music right now.” GoldLink took over the festival scene this summer with electrifying performances at Day N Night in California, Trillectro in D.C., Central Park SummerStage in New York City and AFROPUNK in London and will continue his festival run in Australia with performances at Beyond the Valley on December 28th and Origin NYE on December 31st.
