From Atlanta to Nigeria, Davido Explodes with New Visual “Gbagbe Oshi”

Born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Nigeria, 23-year-old Davido (real name David Adedeji Adeleke) has always infused his Nigerian roots into his music and has been a major force in helping to cross over Afrobeats music globally.

The singer/songwriter/producer chose to chase his music dreams after giving college a try, first releasing his Afropop crossover hit “Way Back When,” which planted him firmly in the Afrobeats music scene.

Davido then charged forth into the mainstream with singles “Dami Duro,” “Omo Baba Olowo” “Gobe,” “Aye” andSkelewu,”which attracted the attention of Major Lazer and Wiwek to create a remix to the track.

Davido has collaborated with many artists such as DJ Snake, Tinashe, Rae Srummerd, Trey Songz, Young Thug and more. Additionally, he has performed all over the world at sold out shows including the One Africa Music Festival at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Davido has earned two MTV Africa Music Awards and a 2014 BET Award for “Best African Act.”
