Meek Mill’s house arrest was set to end yesterday, but as TMZ reported he’s been hit with an additional 8 days. While the Philadelphia emcee should be out enjoying his first night of freedom his house arrest has been extended due to not completing his required community service.
Mill’s made efforts to complete his community service by spending time at schools, aiding in the Flint water crisis, and by giving motivational speeches. Unfortunately for the Dreams and Nightmares artist the work he did perform didn’t meet the conditions set forth by the judge. As per the conditions of his house arrest Mill’s was required to spend 90 days working with the homeless, Habitat for Humanity, or seniors citizens and veterans.
Sources connected to Meek’s camp tell us he got hit with an additional 8 days of house arrest to give him time to complete the right kind of community service, because he volunteered at all the wrong places. Even though the rapper did spend some time helping at homeless shelters it clearly wasn’t enough.
The Philadelphia D.A.’s office said it will reevaluate Mill’s house arrest once his completed all of the required volunteer work.
