On Monday, we were invited to a special media event & private performance by songstress, Kelly Rowland. Kelly (an ambassador for The Boys & Girls Club) teamed up with Claritin to kick off a new program and announce the revitalization projects at the Manhattan-based Boys & Girls Clubs affiliate, The Educational Alliance.
Feeling Godly in all white, Kelly performed Destiny Child hit “Survivor” and her chart-topping single, “When Love Takes Over.”
After her performance Kelly stayed back to take flicks with the staff, press and of course the kids.
And in other Kelly news …
Despite her many responsibilities the Grammy award winning singer, wife, and mother is not slowing down one bit. During a charity event sponsored by The Boys & Girls Club, Kelly told Essence she is entering the beauty world. She confirmed that she has teamed up with her make up artist Sheika Daley to start a make up line for chocolate women.
“Definitely making sure we have our chocolate girls covered” she said.
Kelly complimented Iman’s beauty line and says she is following in her foot steps. Almost every melanin mami probably agrees there is a need for diversity on the make up shelves for darker skin women.
Since Kelly is always flawless, we are excited for this new venture. A debut date for her make up line has yet to be released, but we can not wait to support it.
In the meantime, be on the look out for Kelly’s long awaited album and tune into the premiere of her reality show Chasing Destiny.
