After months of speculation in the media, first daughter Malia Obama may have narrowed her college choices down to two in New York City, according to NBC News.

The 17-year-old Chicago native, who moved with her family into the White House in 2008 when her father first became president, is set to graduate high school this spring and is considering Barnard College and New York University, First Lady Michelle Obama told the television news outlet.

Per NBC News:

Earlier this year, Michelle Obama said that the first family had been talking about Malia’s choice “every night.”

“We are talking about this in my household every night, every night. And there’s really no magic formula,” the first lady said. “It is a very individual decision.”

Michelle Obama has said that her daughter wants to be a filmmaker, and NYU has the respected Tisch School of the Arts, which counts directors Martin Scorsese and Spike Lee among its alumni.

The selections come after Malia spent last summer in New York City as an intern on the set of popular HBO series Girls, starring Lena Dunham. During the summer of 2014, she also worked as a production assistant on Extant, a CBS sci-fi drama featuring Halle Berry.

President Barack Obama graduated from Columbia University in 1983, while the First Lady graduated from Princeton in 1985.
