Mariah Carey seems to be happy that American Idol is on it’s way to cancellation land. The veteran singer and past AI judge, recently called in to an Australian radio show and shaded the show in it’s entirety.
Mariah says:
“That was the worst experience of my life. I don’t think they had any intentions for us to have a good experience doing that show. Pitting two females against each other wasn’t cool,” Carey talks about her past fellow judge, collaborator, and now arch-nemesis Nicki Minaj. “It should’ve been about the contestants instead of about some nonexistent feud that turned into even more ridiculousness. It’s so boring and so fake. You have to make up things to say about people. Half the time the performances are good. You’d just be like, ‘It was good!’”
Well, didn’t she just tell it all!

Meanwhile, Carey has been blasted about her recent Vegas residency show. One reviewer went so far as to compare the show to a car crash. Ouch.

The performances were elaborate and big budget. As the show’s title may suggest, Mariah pledged to perform all 18 (!) of her No. 1 hits in chronological order. It kicked off with 1990’s “Vision of Love.” The stage’s butterfly wing motif slid open to a visage of Mariah wearing an awful wig meant to bring back memories of her younger self. It was pretty rough. Her superhuman ability to crack the sound barrier with amazing vocal registers and pitch was gone—her trademark voice reduced to a rasp. She would overcompensate for this many times during the night by bleating out “woo woo” or “no no” in different ranges.
To add to Mariah’s not-so good year, allegedly her brother Morgan claims in The National ENQUIRER that his sister’s caught in a suicidal web of alcohol and drug abuse, and he fears “she’ll die just like Whitney Houston!” Wait…WHET??
