Never forget where you came from…
Back to where it all started, Sevyn Streeter heads back to her hometown of Haines City, Florida to the very street that she grew up on in her new visual “4th Street.”
Gathering up her immediate family and friends, Streeter reflects back on when she was just a little girl wanting to be a star and reunites with her day-one’s that supported her throughout her growth. In the video, little Sevyn is wearing the same exact dress that she wore on the Apollo stage for Showtime At The Apollo, while performing for Steve Harvey and the audience on national television. It’s such an amazing sight to see and so inspiring!
In the song Sevyn sings:
My kind of people…
The ones that say ‘hey, hi, what’s up, nice to meet you’
The ones that don’t need shit, they just want to see you
Living the life and still treat you like an equal
If you cool, then we cool
That’s my kind of people…
She also adds via Instagram:
Don’t let the people who mean you no good, steal the light from the ones who do. Focus on positivity. I wrote “4th Street” on a day that I refused to focus on the negative people in my life & decided to focus on all the great ones.

Hitting the Apollo stage when she was just 10 years old, Sevyn thanks Steve for his support once her visual dropped on today saying:
Thank you @IAmSteveHarvey for your support when I took the Apollo stage at 10 years old and again as I share "4th Street" with the world.😊❤️
