There’s no limit to what Dawn Richard can do! Her artistry is a spit-fire of greatness that is ready to burn in numbers. Check out more below…

Dawn held an exclusive listening session on last night in NYC and SFPL was on-deck to experience the epicness, that is Dawn Richard.

Dawn’s second album Blackheart hit iTunes at midnight and along with the debut she also released an animated video for the titled track “Tide: The Paradox Effect,” which we got a first-look at the visual before it made it’s way to Vevo.com at 3am. Dawn took the director’s seat, as she worked with digital studio We Were Monkeys. Richard takes on the bold gladiator character who walks through a forceful galactic battlefield in outer space unbothered, and at the end, she faces the sun as it rises into the atmosphere.

Dawn speaks on her music:

“I like to make music and visuals that are different. I don’t like for any of my music to be stuck in one genre. Many publications didn’t know what to call my music — all types of names were flying everywhere. My music is just….ME.”

Listening to tracks off of her latest album, it’s quite obviously that Dawn’s frame of thinking is like no other. She pushes out tunes of love, adversity, empowerment, determination; Dawn is just an atomic ball of artistic fire that is bound to light up the charts.

We absolutely love Dawn and we hope that people catch-on to her musical journey. Once her solo growth spirals out of control, it will be hard for some to keep up.

Check out the video below:

This video was amazing and also symbolic of Dawn’s own journey.

The song does not appear on her album, and can only be found on the vinyl edition.

Be sure to catch Dawn in you town for three shows:

New York (1/22)

L.A. (2/5)

San Francisco (2/7)
