Jim Jones, Slow Bucks, Lumidee & more proved Hip-Hop definitely has a heart yesterday,and it was on full display at the Bedstuy Multi-Service center for the 6th Annual ‘I Will Graduate Day’ pep rally.
Kids selected from schools from all five boroughs packed the Bedstuy Multi-Service center excited to see surprise celebrity guests encouraging them to stay in school and performances. Jim Jones, Slow Bucks, Ashanti’s sister Shia Douglas and singer/songwriter/actress Rachel Lorin each spoke the kids stressing the importance of graduating and getting a good education. They ensured them that there is no easy path to success and that only hard work, determination and graduating will keep them on the right path. Checkout photos from the event below…

The “I WILL GRADUATE CAMPAIGN,” is E4EA’s dropout prevention campaign and call to action for students, parents, and the entire community to increase educational achievement in our youth. Our goal is to provide powerful messages to students about the importance of education, through various forms of multimedia and events.
