Last night in NYC, songstress, Michelle Williams (we no longer need to say of Destiny’s Child lol) held a private listening session for her fourth studio album, Journey To Freedom (due out today).
Michelle took the intimate crowd on her Journey To Freedom, track by track providing the backdrop each single stems from. Michelle was so candid and transparent with every explanation, and explained eact track in her own quirky humorous way, if there were any non-fans in the studio, they definitely became fans by the end of the listening.
The crazy thing is, the albums first two singles, “If We Had Your Eyes” (featuring Fantasia) and “Say Yes” (featuring Beyonce & Kelly Rowland), are mere representation of Michelle’s new body of work.
The track “Yes” is a complete monster, as is the Lecrae & Ty Tribbett assisted “Fall”. But the most compelling single might be “Need Your Help” (Featuring Eric Dawkins), which Williams actually pinned in 2004 on the very last day of her last tour with Destiny’s Child. Michelle was stuck in a place where she didn’t want to run from gospel music anymore, but needed some help and courage to fulfill her own destiny.
God Did That!
Michelle looked fashionably chic (I mean, it’s still fashion week) clad in a red cropped blazer, white graphic tee with “Say Yes” across the front, ripped skinny jeans (she’s cute & tiny!) and open toe heels. Her jewelry was just how we like it, modest with plenty of bling!
