Once again the world anxiously awaits the decision of arguably the best basketball player on the planet as to where he will be lacing up his signature sneakers next season.
Yeah I know some folks are like here we go again, I’m a Bron fan and even I am over it now. Once word hit the sports media world that LeBron James will opt out of his contract with the Miami Heat the flood gates opened with rumors, speculations and possible team scenarios. At first it was cool and of course to be expected, after all this is the best basketball player on the planet, what team wouldn’t want his services.
Yes it’s very nauseating we know, you don’t even have to be a sports fan and of course LeBron James is probably 50% or more the topic of discussion on your twitter timelines. Chances are by now you even know who Chris Broussard, Adrian Wojnarowski are due to them constantly being retweeted on your timeline with updates about LBJ.
Well it’s the kings world and we are going to have to deal with it, like it or not. The decision 2.0 (rumored to be announced via LebronJames.Com) is coming and just like 4 years ago we will all be tuning in to see where the King will rest his crown. The scenario is the same but the roles might have been switched this time around if the rumors are true of a possible homecoming. The city of Miami might be the scorned lover this time around as James seeks to reunite with the city of Cleveland for a second go-around.
All signs are pointing to a return home for LeBron, and it’s understandable that he wants to deliver that elusive first NBA title to his hometown. Me personally wishes he would stay in Miami and build off what he has going there. Not to mention the fact that Dan Gilbert (Cleveland Cavaliers Owner) wrote that disgusting open letter calling Bron a coward, quitter and bad role model for children was just removed from the Cavaliers website after 4 long years. LeBron is a definitely a forgiving person if he can play for that man again but it’s still mere speculation. Yes the execution of the first decision was tacky and could have been handled better, but that response was absolutely disgusting, in the event Bron does return to the Cavaliers a public apology is warranted.
Whether you loved or hated the idea of Chris Bosh, LeBron James, and Dwayne Wade joining forces to form a super team chances are you watched them. You gotta admire the fact these players now are dictating the shape of the NBA. Some would argue that it’s like the inmates running the asylum and it’s detrimental to the league, but it just brings a level of excitement unheard of to the NBA. Whatever LeBron’s decision is in the end it’s going to be a blockbuster and yes we all will witness it and will tune in next season to see how it pans out.
