Fly Guy, Nas was just one of the headliners who made Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2014 a complete success last night!
The rap Superstar introduced his former rap-rival 50 Cent to the sold-out stage and 50 proceeded to reunite with Young Buck, Tony Yayo, and Lloyd Banks, in the midst of rumors that the rap super group were at odds with each other.
Hot 97’s Summer Jam XXI kicked off with performances on the Festival Stage from artists like Iggy Azalea, Chinx Drugz, Mack Wilds, Childish Gambino, and Nipsey Hussle.
The annual concert is held at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The main stage’s performances kicked off with a set singer Sevyn Streeter. Shortly after, Troy Ave hit the stage followed by Action Bronson and Wiz Khalifa.
The Roots followed providing a live band of course, bringing out The LOX.
The Nas set included features from Meek Mill and French Montana as well as a live performance of his anthem “New York State Of Mind.” The Queens Legend continued his Illmatic twentieth anniversary celebration with several other tracks from the debut.
After being introduced by Nas, 50 took the Summer Jam stage and reunited with G-Unit emcees Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, and Young Buck. The crew together the performed past hits like “So Seductive,” and “Shorty Wanna Ride.” 50 Cent also invited Brooklyn’s own, Fabolous to perform the remix to Fab’s ‘Cuffing Season’ featuring 50 as well as Yo Gotti as well.
Rap star, Nicki Minaj took the stage to perform a few of her hits including her new jawn “Pills & Potions”, “Yass Bitch” featuring Soulja Boy (who was present), “Moment 4 Life”, “Looking Ass…” and “Did it on em” just to name a few.
Drake received the loudest applause of the night when Nicki brought him out for ‘Never Loved Us’.
Lil Wayne got an equal applause when he bum rushed the stage with his YCMB counter parts. Hie highlight was paying homage to his homie Chris Brown with his verse from CB’s hit Loyal!
DJ Mustard, who’s beats are dominating the air waves these days closed out the show, and brought it all the way home with features from YG, Ty Dolla $ign, Kid Ink & Young Jeezy.
