SFPL Album Review: Ledisi – ‘The Truth’

The songstress of them all, Ledisi is here and back in action with new music that will be the talk of the year! Check out more below…

Taking on new levels of musicality, Ledisi reaches out to the masses to bring a well-adopted album, centered around a sense of change and a new abundance of life. The matriarch of vocality, brings us her sixth studio album ‘The Truth’, which was lead by the first official single “I Blame You,” produced by Chuck Harmony and Claude Kelly.

‘The Truth’ definitely holds validity to its name in which it does not disappoint. With flavorful sounds like; “Boxes”, “Like This”, “Rock With You”, “That Good Good”, “Lose Control” and more – Ledisi reached into her inner musical spirit and purged out emotions, past dealings, and a sense of moving on to the better and brighter things in life.

The title standout-track “The Truth” delivers a profound story about facing the absolute TRUTH about a failing relationship. Sometimes, you grow apart, things are clearly not the same anymore, you don’t kiss, you don’t talk – feelings have just changed. It’s time to face….THE TRUTH.

Ledisi stated that she is in the prime of her life. She feels better about herself, her new direction of music, and most importantly, her health. She also expressed, that she doesn’t want to be put in a box anymore. She wants to deliver different sounds that has always been instilled in her musically. She’s HAPPY.

Congrats to Ledisi!
