Last Night in NYC at the world-famous Sob’s nightclub it was a night of strictly R&B. Hot 97 shined the Who’s Next Live spotlight on two young rising stars in the R&B world August Alsina and Tiara Thomas. August is Def Jam’s latest addition to the roster and the New Orleans native has generated quite a buzz amongst the ladies. August is currently riding the momentum off the release of his EP ‘Downtown: Life Under The Gun. After his performance August literally was carried off by his bodyguard to protect him from the crowd of frenzy female fans. In a interview with Michael Feeney of the Daily News August revealed there is a remix of “I Luv This Sh*t” on the way featuring Trey Songz and Chris Brown. Tiara Thomas generated buzz of her youtube videos which caught the eye of MMG’s poet Wale. The two came together for the hit record “Bad” a song which she penned, she recently landed a record deal with Interscope/Geffen A&M. Before the two headlining acts took the stage they were warmed up by Ms JLynn MC, MeLa Machinko and Charlie Red. Checkout photos from the show below.

Brooklyn songstress Mela Machinko followed JLynn and performed songs off her Jay Z inspired album ‘Hov Said It Best” which is available now.
The band Charlie Red led by Rocki Evans got the crowd ready for August Alsina.
