Ciara on One Woman Army

“I am approaching this record in a different way than I have any other project before. While recording “One Woman Army” I have been running towards my fears and allowing myself to be vulnerable in many ways; for the first time I allowed myself to be completely open in the music making process. I can honestly say this is the most fun that I’ve ever had making an album.”

“I really love listening to artists like Lana Del Ray, Kendrick Lamar, Drake just to name a few. However, I continue to find inspiration from the generation of greats such as Michael Jackson, Prince and Madonna.”

Ok, We are OVER the secret. Secretly, IT’S NOT A SECRET ANYMORE! The rumor mill went crazy a few weeks ago when word hit the airwaves that Destiny’s Child would be a part of Beyonce‘s highly anticipated Super Bowl half-time performance!

So Now, Michelle, who has been performing in the D.C. production of Fela!, will be mysteriously absent from her current gig on Sunday …

Ok, Michelle, Cut your SH$%!! We really don’t care if you’re coming or going, we could throw Solange right in there and not even know you were missing! Destiny’s Child just dropped an album yesterday, the Superbowl is Sunday, OF COURSE THEY ARE PERFORMING! It wouldn’t make any sense for Bey not to include them in such a historic moment.

Since the union  between Ciara and her label mate, Future, his alleged Baby Mama has been FURIOUS! She’s been tweeting up a storm about her now ex boyfriend dumping her the Pop Diva! The rapper’s ex-girlfriend Brittani, who was a former stripper is also pregnant with his child according to her. The worst part though is she’s due to have the baby any day now. Ouch.

And NOW, another woman, Jessica Smith,  claiming that Future is the father of her 10 year old son just got the results of a paternity test. And TMZ has reported that Future is indeed the legal father of Jessica’s son.

If Brittani was smart, she’s be hated to the courts instead of stalking the man on Twitter.

Looks as if the new villian cast member on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kenya Moore is a big PHAT LIYAH!

It also appears as if her fellow “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” cast members probably had no idea about her fake relationship.

According to Walter, he dated the new RHOA cast member three years ago and the relationship only lasted for three months. They lost touch for quite some time when suddenly the former “Miss USA” (air quotation marks) got in contact with him and asked him specifically to play her boyfriend on the show.

Last Night,  marked the return of BET’s annual tribute to women of color ‘Black Girls Rock’.

The annual ceremony that celebrates women of color who have made impacts on their respective professional fields, now in it’s third year being televised on BET was an amazing show. Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross & Regina King (for the second year) and taped  at New York City’s Loews Paradise Theatre, this year’s show honored actress Kerry Washington and songstresses Alicia Keys and Dionne Warwick among others, and featured performances from the likes of Ciara, Brandy, Keyshia Cole, India Arie and more. Check out the performances below ...

Alicia Keys performed ‘New Day’ and ‘Girl On Fire’.  Shout Out to former SFPL intern Shernita who can be seen performing/dancing right next to AK! She’s the brown skin beauty with the shaved head!

Brandy performed her newest single “Wildest Dreams” of her AMAZING album, Two Eleven. In, Stores. Now. 

Keyshia Cole gave us some great vocals on her new single, “Trust & Believe”.

Ciara danced her ass of during her performance featuring the Queen, Missy Elliott: She performed “One Woman Army,” “Sorry,” “One, Two, Step;” and brought out Missy for “9th Inning”.

India.Arie performed her single “6th Avenue”.

The fellas did an AMAZING job, with this the first appearance of gentlemen on BGR! Step into Eric Benet, Anthony Hamilton & Luke James’ performance of “Wild Flower”.

And R&B Divas,  SWV ended the celebration with their hits “Right Here”, “Sp Into You” and “Weak”.

Our Sister Blogger, Necole Bitchie, recently caught up with Ciara for an intimate chat while she was in New York City promoting her new single, ‘Got Me Good’ and celebrating her birthday. 

The smooth crooning dancing machine was candid as she spoke on her desire to find love, the last time she was in love (which she said was before she dated Amar’e Stoudemire) and how she felt when she heard the news of his engagement to Alexis Welch.  She also dished a little on 50 Cent (who she calls her best friend) and when asked if she was satisfied when he tweeted her, ‘Okay I’m Sorry’, she said she was ‘speechless’.

Step into a few highlights:

Ciara on Love:
I really believe that love is everything. It is so necessary, without love you have nothing. You can’t live without love in my book and in my world. So I look forward to that moment.

Ciara on her fear of not finding Love:
I sacrifice pretty much all of my time for my career and there has to be a balance to it. What good is having success in your work but not being able to share it with someone? That’s not living to me. Having career success is important but having life success is even more important to me. Especially, now more than ever it’s a must.

I look ahead and I look forward to knowing who I am going to spend my life with. I can go rock the stage, but to know when I go home, my baby or my boo is waiting for me, that’s fun and that is the icing on the cake.

On Amar’e Stoudemire’s engagement
People don’t know that Amar’e and I weren’t together before you started seeing the two of them together but I have to say, I’m probably more happy for her. I’m more happy for the woman because she’s been very, very, very patient. They’ve had a long relationship off-and-on for years and they have kids together and I think it’s important that if people can figure it out together with the mother and father, why not? So I wish them nothing but success on that. The crazy thing is, when I was like 19 years old, Amar’e actually courted me, just for a little bit, and it never turned into anything and we didn’t go far with it. We met again after my relationship that was before him, and he’s always been a nice guy. Always been very nice to me, always been very respectful and I had a very fun experience. You know, you meet people along the way for a reason and I felt like he and I met for a reason, and we had fun in our experience and there is nothing hard about it.

I’m honestly wishing for him to figure things out the right way in his life. It’s something so positive that came from that, so none of it is any of that funkiness. Everything happens for a reason and I’m wishing him luck. I really am. I mean that from my heart. Who is meant for me will be for me. It ain’t even that serious. No heaviness over here.
