Behind-the-scenes footage from Persona’s photo shoot with Amber Rose that retells the story from the film, “This is England”.
Dopeness.
The film centers on a group of London Skinheads hanging in England during the 1960s. It was a time when this particular subculture didn’t bother with politics and race but more fixated themselves on the unisex fashion, music, and lifestyle-alternate to the popular Mod trend. Deviating from the norm and portraying this rebellious attitude, the Skinheads represented a time of change much like the shaven-headed beauty, Amber Rose.
25 Years after the Original recording, artists united to remake the classic “We are the World”.
“We Are the World – 25 for Haiti,” will benefit the victims of the earthquake that rocked Haiti.
The recording session took place in the same studio as the original song (written by Richie and Michael Jackson) and features; Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Wyclef, Justin Bieber, Gladys Knight, Indai Aire, Jermaine Jackson, Jennifer Hudson, Trey Songz, Drake, Barbra Streisand, Toni Braxton, Snoop Dogg, Nicole Richie, Usher, Pink, Jamie Foxx, T-Pain, Keri Hilson, Brandy, Robin Thicke, the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Busta Rhymes, Nicole Scherzinger, Akon, Tony Bennett, Carlos Santana, and more.
I’ll be the last person to say that Taylor Swift is irrelevant. I’d also be lying if I said I never heard of her. I definitely have, and I know a few singles when I hear it.
She’s been on the scene, doing incredible numbers (in the present record industry) for a while now.
In 2006, she released her debut single “Tim McGraw“, then her self-titled debut album, which was subsequently certified Platinumseveral times by the Recording Industry Association of America. In November 2008, Swift released her second album, Fearless.Fearless and Taylor Swift finished 2008 at number three and number six respectively, with sales of 2.1 and 1.5 million.[5] Fearlesshas topped the Billboard 200 in 11 non-consecutive weeks;[6] no album has spent more time at No. 1 since 2000.
However, On September 14, 2009 Kanye West made Taylor Swift relevant to his Audience, when he interrupted her acceptance speech to tell the World what he though of her beating out Beyonce for best Video of the Year.
Since then, everyone knows who Taylor Swift is, they may not be able to sing her songs but they know she’s the girl Kanye interrupted. Thus propelling a combination of awareness, recognition and sympathy. When she beat Lady Gaga, and Beyonce for Album of the Year at the Grammy’s all I could say is, She should thank Kanye. Not down playing her talent or success, just saying it’s been enhanced.
Some of you may argue that, I din’t know much about her but many people did. That’s my point.
Check out this new track from Miami’s finest DJ Khaled. Of course, Khaled only rolls with the best and the hot track features Rick Ross, Ludacris, T-Pain and Snoop Dogg. Another club anthem in the works! Pow!
As we took a look at the 52nd Annual Grammy Celebration last night, we could not help but notice the similarity of J-Lo’s dress. To the right (pictured above), Rihanna was spotted on the red carpet for the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, France on Jan. 23rd. Although, the dresses are two completely different fabrics, there is still a slight resemblance.
*What really opened our eyes is when we saw this….
Beyoncé made history at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. In addition to being the evening’s biggest winner, the singer became the most awarded woman in one night in the 52-year history of the awards show.
Beyoncé collected six trophies on Sunday, including Song of the Year for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It). The wins bring her total to 13 solo Grammys.
We had to give a special shout-out to two of our most favorite entertainers. A special congrats to Lalah Hathaway who looked simply beautiful on the carpet. For those that didn’t know, Lalah was nominated for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for the titled track “That Was Then”. The category held the names of other nominees, such as: Beyonce (”Single Ladies”…Winner), Melonie Fiona (”It Kills Me”), Jazmine Sullivan (”Lions, Tigers & Bears”) and…..
Ledisi (”Goin’ Thru Changes”)! Ledisi also looks great on the red carpet in her black one-piece dress. Ledisi was also nominated for Best R&B Album – Turn Me Loose, where Maxell took the trophy home as the winner.
If you haven’t purchased a Ledisi/Lalah album or at least attended their concerts, you are totally missing out. These two have a vocal range that will take you into another dimension. Two impeccable voices.
Good friends, Brandy Norwood and Kelly Rowland attended The Universal Motown Republic Group Grammy Nominee 2010 Cocktail Party at the W Hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday evening.
Keri Hilson and Akon join forces for a great cause, in which they recorded a charity single titled “Oh Africa”. The song is very uplifting and inspirational. Job well done Keri and Akon!
