In New York, Lady Gaga was joined by Dr. Dre, Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman Jimmy Iovineand Noel Lee of Monster Cable to officially unveil “Heartbeats by Lady Gaga”, the latest addition to the hugely popular Beats by Dr. Dre headphone family from Monster.
The press conference, held at the swanky New York Palace Hotel in midtown Manhattan, also featured a visual overview of the to-date success of the Beats By Dr. Dre brand plus support from diverse celebrities including Sting, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Ne-Yo, Soulja Boy, Black Eyed Peas, M.I.A. and Jay-Z.
Explaining her motivation behind creating the headphones, Gaga says, “In the deepest hour of the night, I confess to myself three things. I would die if I was forbidden to write, forbidden to love, or forbidden to fashion. Heartbeats embody the trinity of my human being, with one additional vow: that SOUND matters. Wear Heartbeats, love each other and celebrate the art and lifestyle of music.

Bringing back some of that Andre Agassi nostalgia, Nike produces a Challenge Court Varsity Jacket, featuring a design and colorway following that of the classic clothing line worn by the tennis superstar in the late 80s and through the 90s. Details include various commemorative patches, a fluorescent splatter front, and logo applique on the back. Retail is set at $450.
Besides the back of the jacket, I am practically in love with this jacket. The color-ways are very dope!
Team HUF have joined the fight against AIDS in Africa by contributing to the Converse 1HUND(RED) artists project. Lending their creative talents to the Skidgrip hi, Keith Hufnagel and Hanni El Khatib have created a simple monochrome upper covered in an ‘H’ repeat pattern that references vintage skate graphics and type. “We wanted to reference the skate and surf vibe of the 1980s and the Skidgrip was a great, authentic foundation.” The shoe will be available from October 3rd, with a percentage of the net wholesale price going to AIDS relief in Africa.
