BILL COSBY PRESENTS THE COSNARATI: STATE OF EMERGENCY
- With 4 comments
Bill Cosby PRESENTS THE COSNARATI: STATE OF EMERGENCY. The full CD reflects Hip-Hop Music With Meaning and an album of music with messages reflecting today’s most critical issues affecting young people.
“It’s time for a change.” – Bill Cosby
“The only warning advisory on this album is you might actually learn something
and grow.” – William “Spaceman” Patterson, Producer
The 14-track cd took 2 years in the making. It’s an album that speaks on respect, peer pressure, abuse and other issues with a progressive mix of R&B, rap/hip-hop, jazz, pop, funk and rock.
We here at SFPL, commend Mr. Cosby for delvering such positivity in this music industry today.
But we are sure there are questions…
Could this be a retraction to the statement that Bill Cosby made about Hip-Hop music sometime ago?
Also, could this be some type of way of apologizing for his rant back in ’04 about the Black Community?
Bill Quotes: “Stop beating up your women because you can’t find a job.”
“Let me tell you something, your dirty laundry gets out of school at 2:30 every day, it’s cursing and calling each other n—— as they’re walking up and down the street,” (Cosby said during an appearance at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition & Citizenship Education Fund’s annual conference.)
“They think they’re hip. They can’t read; they can’t write. They’re laughing and giggling, and they’re going nowhere.”
“I can’t even talk the way these people talk, ‘Why you ain’t,’ ‘Where you is’ … and I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk,” “And then I heard the father talk … Everybody knows it’s important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can’t be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth.”
Over the years, Bill Cosby had no problem expressing himself. He castigated some blacks, saying that they cannot simply blame whites for problems such as teen pregnancy and high school dropout rates.
We totally agree with Mr. Cosby.
But do you think he should have taken a more subtle approach, than his years of collaborative rants and remarks?
Your Thoughts?
We would love to hear your concerns!
See you in the comment section….

I certainly agree with what Bill Cosby has stated. The only problem is he isnt feeding the shit on a silver spoon. Even though I am a young lady, when I look at this generation, majority just leaves me shaking my head. For example, when did words include numbers. Many times I read messages that kids try and shorten by including numbers, etc. Its so confusing. It doesnt make you “hip” as bill says. It makes you look illiterate.

At this point we have been being subtle and its getting us nowhere! When I hear these pre teens and teenagers these days Im appalled (never thought I would have to say that at the tender age of 24!). I feel like if we dont do something drastic we may lose a whole generation because alot of the things that they think are cute/cool are ridiculous, its like they dont have any love or respect for themselves so how can we expect them to have some for others? SMH Rant over.

I don’t even think his message would have been spread this far if he hadn’t said it this way. It wouldn’t have been repeated over and over on hip hop blogs and the news if it wasn’t deemed “controversial” because of his tone.
I think he did it the right way, people need a knock on the back of the head sometimes.

I think he did it the right way and I applaud him for it. There is no such a thing as taking a subtle approach if you want to make a huge impact and make a difference.
We need more people like him.
