Super producer Polow Da Don has not only been making hits but he’s been away seeking out great talent as well. Today, Polow’s Zone 4 Inc. passes along a Cuban/Venezuelan persuasion by the name of Veronica Vega. Right now, Veronica has a viral single entitled “El Papel” – leading up to the release of the official first single “Wicked” featuring Pitbull. Check out more of Veronica below…

A first generation Latin-American of Cuban & Venezuelan decent, Vega’s round the way girl-next-door appeal is a true testament to the cultural melting pot that is Miami. Miss 305, as baptized by Pitbull, was influenced heavily by singers Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and legendary vocal coach Mrs. Betty Wright, who became her teacher and helped to develop her voice early on and was of great support.

SFPL had a sit-down with Veronica recently and here is what she had to say…

On her music style:

“My style of music is magical embodied with a lot of pop chemistry. I want my music to be fun, free and youthful. I love to sing, rap and write, so my personality comes out through my music.”

On standing-out as an artist:

“Standing out is beyond music. I want my hard work to speak for itself and I want to connect with people through my music. Music is my life and I want people to feel that.”

About her favorite artist:

“I love J. Lo and she is someone that I’ve always looked up to. I hope to work with her one day.”

About her dream collaboration:

“I would have loved to work with Whitney Houston. She is on the list as one of my favorite top vocalist of all time. I’m so sad that she is gone but she still lives within all of us.”

On her fashion style:

“My style is just ‘how I feel’. I like to dress down in sweats, sneakers and maybe something tight-fitted to show my total package just a bit :).”

Polow Da Don had this to say about his new protege:

“Working with Vega has been a life changing experience – Culturally, Musically, and Spiritually. With all that I know about music, I’ve been just as much a student during the process of this project. This project opens my eyes to how big the world really is.”
