Sunday’s Best season five winner Joshua Rogers has definitely came out the gate on mission, a mission for God. His debut album “Well Done” is number one on the Gospel Billboard charts and the 18-year-old star is soaking it all in. Born and raised in the church, Rogers finds now finds he is responsible to set the bar for young men all around the world.

“Being a young black male in this position it requires you to be an example. I don’t find it hard because the example that people say that I should be, I actually am at heart. I love the Lord. I love singing, and I want to see the betterment of young men, not just young black men, but young men. It’s time for us to set the bar and make the statement that we aren’t what statistics think we are.”

Roger’s newly found “role model” stopping him from enjoying the ride of his well-deserved fame. The album “Well Done” consist of seven songs that highlight his best performances on the hit television series. Although this album doesn’t showcase much original music, the second album is promised to do so, but in the meantime he is continuing to shock his fans with his amazing vocal range.

“I had one person come to me and was like “On the show I really thought that was falsetto, but that’s really your voice. That’s one thing that I can say that God truly gave me. When you see me live, unless I’m hoarse, which rarely happens praise God, but you’ll definitely see it more on the next album.”

Overcoming obstacles on the show such as performing difficult songs and growing into professionalism as an artist, Joshua Rogers has promised potential to be one of gospel music’s most prominent faces. His dream collaboration are the gospel legends “The Clark Sisters” and I’m sure it won’t be too long before it becomes a reality. The main thing that Rogers wants his fans to take away from him as an artist is to get to know who God is for themselves.

“One thing that I want them to know is that my first goal is to live holy. CeCe was adamant when she told me to live the life that I sing about so that’s something that I really try to do. Living holy isn’t boring. It’s not as hard as sometimes people like to make it. It can be the best thing that ever happened to you and the most fun. That’s one of the main things that I want people to understand; especially young people. They find it boring and they can’t even get into the presence of God because there’s so much of an expectation on the church. I want people to get out of that spectatorship and come in the presence of God and experience who God really is. I believe that one more people experience more of who God really is, it will take this world by storm.”

Joshua’s faith is amazing and he is definitely a Fly Guy to be looking out for. Make sure you go purchase his album “Well Done” in stores now.
