New York City based singer/songwriter Shamar Forte releases his new single “Bright Lights“ from his upcoming EP “Fear of Failure“. “Bright Lights” is Shamar Forte’s follow up single from his last EP “A Selection From The Archives“, which lead single “Something From A Dream” premiered on MTV and “Showdown” on VH1. Shamar is a singer/songwriter turned model/actor. VH1 recently debuted his stunning music video for his song ”Showdown” which also received 1st place in the Canada Hamilton Film Festival Awards. His music has been performed on BET’s highly rated afternoon show, “106 & Park,” as well as the world famous Apollo theatre amongst various other shows in NYC. When Shamar is not on stage being the front man he’s on stage singing back up for Grammy Nominated songstress Martha Wash (Its raining men, everybody everybody, carry on). Shamar has aligned himself with Hank Lane the music company who has provided live entertainment for celebrities such as Diddy, Vera Wang, Kenneth Cole, Ivanka Trump etc.
Shamar was also handpicked to shoot with break out artists Nicki Minaj in her latest issue for Ebony magazine shot by celebrity photographer Derek Blanks. . His acting credits include performing the part of CeCe in “Dreamgirls.” He played the part of the Tin Man in a 10-city tour of the Harlem Live version of “The Wiz.” Shamar has also studied acting closely under Ms. Tasha Smith (“Daddy’s Little Girl,” “Why Did I Get Married.”)
As a model Shamar has signed with top modeling agency Wilhelmina.
As a recording artist, Shamar has joined alliances with the New World Group, a conglomerate of creative individuals. There, he found two producers who have been involved in the careers of such as the Jonas Brothers, JoJo (whom he has done backround vocals for), Mya, Sean Paul, etc. Shamar writes and co produces all of his own material with Z.Hannah, co-founder of the New World Group. “He’s the only person I’ve met who understands exactly where I want to take it, sometimes before I do” says Shamar.
