And after weeks of speculation and hints, Maybach Music Group officially announced the enlistment of…

singer/actor/songwriter Omarion into their ranks. Omarion first got his start in the music industry as ¼ of the omnipresent R&B boy band B2K. After the group disbanded, the Watts native released three solo albums (two reaching gold status) and a compilation with rapper Bow Wow selling millions of singles from songs like “O”, “Touch”, “Let Me Hold You” feat. Bow Wow, “Entourage,” and the Timbaland produced “Ice Box.” Omarion’s debut album is slated for a fall release.

Maybach Music group is a label imprint founded by best-selling hip-hop artist and entrepreneur Rick Ross. Maybach Music Group’s roster currently includes rappers Wale, Meek Mill and Stalley who have all become part of Warner Bros. Records roster. Ross rose from ruling Miami’s underground rap scene and is widely known for his hit singles “Hustlin” (with a remix assist from Jay-Z), “B.M.F (Blowin Money Fast)” feat. Styles P, “Super High” feat. Ne-Yo, “Aston Martin Music” feat. Drake and Chrisette Michelle, and most recently “Stay Scheemin” ft. Drake and French Montana.

In 2011, Maybach Music Group’s compilation album Self Made Vol. 1 debuted in the Top 5 during its week of release and was a critical success that ended up on a number of the year’s “Best of” lists from Complex to MTV. The album served as a catalyst for Wale’s debut on the imprint, Ambition. The nearly gold-selling and anticipated return of the DC rapper debuted at #1 on the Rap/R&B charts (#2 overall) and revived the career of an artist naysayers had written off. The growing imprint has also released successful mixtapes from Meek Mill (Dreamchasers) and Stalley (Savage Journey to the American Dream), displaying Ross’ penchant for cultivating raw talent and turning them into household names.
