In a time saturated with aspiring artist all fighting to fit in,
singer-songwriter and entertainer Chris Scholar defies the ordinary. A
trailblazer of his generation, Chris’s artistry and style are all his
own, combining a soulful voice with conscience rap and cutting-edge
dance moves into his performance. Drawn to music since childhood,
Chris’s musical influences include the sounds of Stevie Wonder,
Michael Jackson, Bobby Womack, and Erykah Badu along with of some of
hip hop’s greats; Tupac, Outkast, and The Fugees.At the age of 8, Chris developed a passion for music by singing in his
church choir. From then Chris understood his calling and ability to
impact the lives of others through music. As a Virginia native, Chris
stays true to his roots and remains positive in his messages. He aims
to make music with substance and meaning that will appeal to the
masses.

Since  the age of 16, Chris has amassed a number of accomplishments,
performing through out the east coast. He has opened for major shows
such as the Russ Parr Summer Concert Series with acts Bobby Valentino,
G-Unit, and Dorrough. He also graced the stage for the Salt & Pepper
Hip Hop Legends Tour with acts Dougie Fresh, MC Lyte, Bizmarkie and
more. The entertainer has also opened and performed with legendary R&B
icon, Sisqo and Dru Hill. Additionally, Chris has performed the
National Anthem at the Verizon Center for a Washington Wizards NBA
game. In result of his music buzz, Chris was nominated at the 2011 DMV
Awards for the best upcoming R&B artist in the state of Virginia.
Through his tenacity and hard work, the young artist caught the eye of
Jermaine Dupri through the producer’s new social networking site,
GLOBAL14. Chris has been featured twice on Dupri’s blog and credited
with being a great young upcoming talent. Chris has been working
closely with the grammy award winning producer Rio Bridges of Savant
Soundz LLC who has been a major influence and inspiration in his
music. There is a bright future ahead for this young superstar who is
always striving to become better every step of the way.

The most remarkable characteristic of this young musician is his hard
work and dedication. Not only does he sing, write his own music, and
create his own detailed show performances, he has also branded his own
video production company “Brown Brothers Productions.” C.Scholar along
with his father and brother have a innovative video production company
that shoot mostly all his videos and have expanded to do work with
some Grammy award winning producers and local artist around the area.
